Who are
'The Sultans Of Sand?'
The short answer is that they are dozens of particularly (highly) skilled and fun-loving Master or Grandmaster sand sculptors from different countries around the world (team members on every continent except Antarctica) who have regularly -but in various roster permutations, come together for decades at exotic locations around the globe under the aegis of the American company, Varano Sand Sculpture Co. LLC and directed by the founder, Rich Varano to perform as a unified team in order to render typically numerous & often colossal -but always captivating sand sculpture displays. Our main focus & what we enjoy doing the most is working as a large group creating multiple pieces at once in shows of various themes (Sand Operas) as entertainment for the masses that are typically hosted by a community that wants a resident "Sand Sculpture Garden" as a cultural draw.
Or, for various other typically commercial special interest reasons by various groups for myriad reasons either in the form of gated (paid admission or free but sponsored exhibition) shows that remain open to the public for usually months at a time, or one-offs for varied and sundry special occasions of shorter duration.
But sometimes fewer, or even just one sculpture will be created for other specific commercial needs or private desire such as; production work on TV or in the movies, attention-getting marketing tools at trade shows and conventions, or just as special event centerpieces for everything from theme parties or weddings, to grand openings or as sponsored pieces at fairs and festivals.
We also offer educational components for continued enrichment by way of individual classes, group lessons, and corporate team-building seminars.
