Jesus Heals a Paralytic.
Mark 2:1-12
And when he returned to Capernium after some days, it was reported that he was at home. And many were gathered together, so that there was no more room, not even at the door. And he was preaching the word to them. And they came, bringing to him a paralytic carried by four men. And when they could not get near him because of the crowd, they removed the roof above him, and when they had made an opening, they let down the bed on which the paralytic lay. And when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” Now some of the scribes were sitting there, questioning in their hearts, “Why does this man speak like that? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they thus questioned within themselves, said to them, “Why do you question these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralytic— “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.” And he rose and immediately picked up his bed and went out before them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!”

And they came to Jericho. And as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart. Get up; he is calling you.” And throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has healed you.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way

And a leprous came to him and, going down on his knees before him, made a request, saying, If it is your pleasure, you have the power to make me clean. And being moved with pity, he put out his hand and touching him said to him, It is my pleasure; be made clean. And straight away the disease went from him, and he was made clean. And he sent him away, saying to him very sharply, “See that you say nothing to any man: but go and let the priest see you, and make yourself clean by an offering of the things ordered by Moses, for a witness to them”. But he went out, and made it public, giving an account of it everywhere, so that Jesus was no longer able to go openly into a town, but was outside in the wasteland; and they came to him from everywhere.

And they brought to him a man who was deaf and mute, and they begged him to lay his hand on him. And taking him aside from the crowd privately, he put his fingers into his ears, and after spitting touched his tongue. And looking up to heaven, he sighed and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” And his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he spoke plainly. And Jesus charged them to tell no one. But the more he charged them, the more zealously they proclaimed it. And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak.”

Jesus heals a woman suffering from bleeding.

And he went with him, and a great number of people went after him and came round him. And a woman, who had been bleeding for twelve years, And had suffered so much due to the intervention of several doctors and had given all she had, and was no better, but even worse, When she had news of the things which Jesus did, she went among the people coming after him and put her hand on his robe. She thought: “If I may only put my hand on his robe, I will be saved. And straight away the bleeding stopped, and she had a feeling in her body that her disease had gone and she was well. And straightaway Jesus was conscious that power had gone out of him; and, turning to the people, he said, Who touched my robe? And his disciples said to him, You see the people around you on every side, and you say, Who touched me? And he looked around him to see who had done that. The woman, shaking with fear, conscious of what had been done to her, came and, falling on her face before him, gave him a true account of everything.And he said to her, Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be free from your disease.

He drew near to Jesus to kiss him, but Jesus said to him, “Judas, would you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?” And when those who were around him saw what would follow, they said, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?” And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus said, “No more of this!” And he touched his ear and healed him. Then Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders, who had come out against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs? And when Jesus heard that he was surprised, and said to those who came after him, Truly I say to you, I have not seen such great faith, no, not in Israel. I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness. They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes. And when Jesus had stepped out of the boat, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit. He lived among the tombs. And no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain, for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones. And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him. And crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.” For he was saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion, for we are many.” And he begged him earnestly not to send them out of the country. Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, and they begged him, saying, “Send us to the pigs; let us enter them.” So he gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the sea.

The Birth of Jesus.
Mathew 1: 18-23
This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly. But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”). the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him

Tribute To Front Line Workers & All Those Who Provide Support
In this day and age of a raging pandemic, we naturally give the utmost proper respect to all the doctors and nurses, technicians, paramedics, emergency responders, and ambulance attendants, as well as all the researchers and scientists in the medical field who strive to thwart the ravaging effects of this global scourge of Covid-19. But we also owe a measure of homage to the many people from myriad other supporting trades and vocations who are right behind those at the front who provide the hands-on treatment, who themselves are also integral in combating this worldwide problem by providing necessary if less-obvious material support. From administrators to custodial/sanitation staff, to cooks & cafeteria personnel, and even necessary factory workers & delivery people providing goods and services in this concerted global fight against this disease. This is a huge effort against a microscopically tiny virus, but it is a communal effort. As we each do our part in acting responsibly by social distancing, wearing face masks, washing our hands, and observing all practical safety protocols, we should remain mindful and grateful that all those people; in their various roles contributing directly or indirectly do such seminally important work. Combined, they may seem like heroes to some -or as angels who walk among us to others... but they are all certainly worthy of our notice and gratitude. On behalf of ALL involved in the making of the Jesolo Sand Nativity, we sincerely say, "Thank you" to all of them.
