* This is a paid job and a group effort. It is not a contest (not even a fake one) Nor a showcase for the individual artists as much as it is a unified sand opera. * Safety is always the main priority. * You must have guard rails up on the poundups stacks if you are standing or working at or above 1.5 meters or be tethered by a cable from above.* You are required by Italian law to wear safety shoes or work boots on all projects we do in Jesolo and follow all covid rules and regulations.* You are required to wear Sultans logo gear as outerwear at all times while working as the whole carving process is being recorded. * Make me aware of any medical conditions, etc. that you feel I should know about & provide up-to-date emergency contact info for your people back home if you want me to have it in case of emergency.* If there are any problems or damage due to collapse or vandalism or anything else, we will continue on, to provide the best product we can in whatever time remains.* Artists will sign the standard art release as a condition of being hired and paid.* You will be paid for the days you work. Payment is made by bank wire transfer or a bank check. I need your bank wire transfer data. * For wire transfers, I will pay outgoing wire transfer fees at my bank, & you will pay whatever incoming fees are required (if any) at your own bank.* After you are hired, the front office people will call you to arrange your tickets. PLEASE respond to them quickly when dealing with them for anything, including bio updates. * Plan to arrive on 14 November at the latest. You must be present for all 14 carving days, not leaving before the evening of 29 November. A free day on November 29 is available at your option. We cover hospitality the same as we do for your work days. * After you get to Jesolo, confirm with Rich when you want to be picked up from the hotel to return to the airport to depart Jesolo. (it is about a 30-minute ride to and from the Venice airport.* If a ticket is purchased for you after you have agreed to be hired, and then you cannot come for any reason other than the show being canceled or things relevant to the producer's decisions, you will be responsible for the cost of the ticket.* You will not change any approved design plan without first consulting Rich. * You may be asked to alter or change your work OR carve on -or over someone else's work at any time. This is a team event, not a showcase for individual artists.* When in doubt about anything job or design-related, ask Rich first before you make any design changes to a plan that was already approved.* Start work in the tent at 09:00 each day, and finish at 18:00 for a minimum of eight work hours per day. You may start earlier or work later if you had a long lunch; just be sure to do at least eight work hours per day. But know that the city workers have priority to run the bobcat or do other work as needed before 09:00 and after 18:00. You can work around them if you stay out of their way.
* All crew members are permitted a 15-minute break in both the morning and the afternoon work sessions, but please be punctual.* Please limit the sand impact on the hotel and restaurant.* All surfaces that can be seen must be carved to a finished point. See the sightlines with the walls up in the Layout & Poundups tab. [ LAYOUT & POUNDUPS ]* Leave all bottom forms ON as elevated bases for better viewing.* There will be one or two professional laborers at least some of the time. * There will be containment water barrels for water while working the sand. * Fresh drinking water will be provided on-site. * There will be minimal security provided, but we have to do the best we can in the available time in case of damage due to vandalism, etc. * It can be quite cold and wet, even in the tent with the heaters, so please plan accordingly.* Please bring and display your Sultans Of Sand gear while working & let me know if you need more before October 15. Sultans Of Sand branding is important. Definitely do not wear other event shirts or any other branding while in the tent.* There may be sudden or unexpected changes to the program at any time, so you will need to remain flexible.* Crew members will conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, as they represent the Sultans Of Sand brand and reputation at all times while in Jesolo, not only while working. You will undoubtedly have a good time but you are also humbly asked to always act responsibly. :).
