It is not a contest (not even a fake one)* You may possibly be asked to change something you're carving or asked to carve on someone else's piece or the other way around.* Safety is always the main priority. * You must have guard rails up on the poundups stacks if you are standing or working above 1.5 meters, or be tethered by a cable from above.*You are required by Italian law to wear safety shoes or work boots on all projects we do in Jesolo and follow all covid rules and regulations.*You are required to wear Sultans logo gear as outerwear at all times while working as the whole carving process is being recorded. * Make Rich aware of any medical conditions, etc. that you feel I should know about & provide up-to-date emergency contact info for your people back home if you want me to have it in case of emergency.* If there are any problems or damage due to collapse or vandalism, we will continue on, to provide the best product we can in whatever time remains.* Artists will sign the standard art release as a condition of being hired and paid.* You will be paid for the days you work sculpting by bank wire transfer, or a bank check. I need your invoice and bank wire transfer data. * For wire transfers, I will pay outgoing wire transfer fees to you, & you will pay whatever incoming fees are required (if any) at your own bank.* After you are hired, the front office people will call you to arrange your tickets. PLEASE respond to them quickly when dealing with them.* Plan to arrive on 14 May 2022 at the latest. You must be present for all 14 carving days, not leaving before the evening of 28 May. A free day on 29 May is available at your option. * After you get your hotel pickup info, confirm it with Rich including what time you want to be picked up from the hotel to return to the airport. (it is about a 30-minute ride to and from the Venice airport.* If a ticket is purchased for you after you have agreed to be hired, and then you cannot come for any reason other than the show being canceled or things relevant to the producer's decisions, you will be responsible for the cost of the ticket.* You will not change any approved design plan without first consulting Rich. * You may be asked to alter or change your work, OR carve on,-or over, someone else's work. This is a team event, not a showcase for individual artists.* When in doubt about anything job or design-related, ask Rich first before you make any design changes to an already approved plan.* Start work in the tent at 09:00 each day, finish at 18:00 for a minimum of eight work hours per day. You may start earlier, or work later, but the city *workers have priority to run the bobcat as needed before 09:00 and after 18:00* All crew members are permitted a 15-minute break, in both the morning and the afternoon work sessions, but please be punctual.* Please limit the sand impact on the hotel and restaurant.* All surfaces that can be seen must be carved to a finished point. * Leave all bottom forms ON, and do not sculpt into them, or develop work outside of the bottom form on the ground. * There will be a couple of professional helpers as laborers at various times.* Fresh drinking water will be provided on-site. * There will be minimal security provided, but we have to do the best we can in the available time in case of damage due to vandalism, etc. * It can be quite cold, and wet, even in the tent with the heaters, so please plan accordingly.* Please bring and display your Sultans Of Sand gear while working & let me know if you need more before I go to Italy at the end of April. * Sultans Of Sand branding is important. Please do not wear other event shirts, or any other branding while in the tent.* There may be sudden or unexpected changes to the program at any time, so you will need to remain flexible.
We will be subject to Italian and International laws regarding Covid, Unfolding world events or anything else required by law. * Crew members will conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times, as they represent the Sultans brand and reputation at all times while in Jesolo, not only while working. You will undoubtedly have a good time but you are also humbly asked to always act responsibly. :)
